President Fran Reichenbach called the annual meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Fran Reichenbach introduced Alice Gomez, the head of L.A. Youth Network, who introduced herself to the community and announced the existence of a youth group home on Beachwood Drive.  Ms. Gomez informed the community that the youth are referred from DCSF; that there are nine youths living the home presently; and that the capacity is for 12 youths.

Fran Reichenbach introduced our SLO Bill Sollie to give us the current stats on crime in the area and to inform us of what the new police chief is trying to accomplish.  Bill Sollie again cautioned the community that in our area the number one crime is theft from autos and of autos.  Bill Sollie gave the community the anticipated increase numbers in LAPD slated for the near future.

Fran Reichenbach made motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes until next meeting, which was unanimously approved.

Diana Knoll gave the treasurer’s report, with a balance of $2,469.47.

Michael Gladstone gave a presentation on the status of our L.A. Fire Department, the recent fire on Hollyridge, and various fire equipment especially equipped to get through narrow and winding roads like we have in our Hills.

Captain Brian Dameron from Station 82 discussed the potential move of the station and the particulars of the kind of fire that was on Hollyridge and the problems of getting around the narrow streets when there are cars blocking the big rigs.  Further information to the community included the fact that the Department has less personnel than ever and that most of the runs in our area are medical.

There was the announcement of a meeting pertaining to the fire station move to be held on January 28th and about the protest to be held on Garfield and Hollywood Boulevard.

Further issues by the public included an illegal fence on Durando and the coming up meeting at the Planning Commission on February 5th.   Those volunteering to attend include Fran Reichenbach, Missy Kelly and Helen Nelson.

The last announcement of the evening was the cottage hearing to be held on February 19 at 10:00 a.m.

President Fran Reichenbach called the meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
