March 29, 2005 -

This photo was taken this morning at 10am (March 29, 2005). I followed these guys in my car – watching them looking into car windows and down driveways. They walked on Westshire toward the village, then up Woodhaven spinning around and walking back toward Westshire and up Woodhaven again. They knew I was following them, passing them several times. They finally gave up and walked back up Westshire (that’s where my house is) so I continued to overtly follow them slowly with my car keeping a safe distance behind. When they went around a corner, they picked up speed. The guys that were working in the street at Westshire & Lechner saw them jump into a black Acura. They didn’t get a good look at the driver but the passenger was a light Hispanic man with brown hair. The two guys in the picture are very light black men around 17 or 18 years old with baseball caps and gang attire. They seem very friendly and clean. If you see them walking on your street, call 213-485-4301 and ask for the watch commander. I had them on the phone when I followed the guys up Westshire so the watch commander dispatched a unit to our neighborhood. Haven’t heard yet if they caught the guys or if they made it out of the hood quickly.

I drove around looking and then came to the market where I saw a black Acura parked right outside of the market – is it the same one? I don’t know but reported it to the police. The guys were not in the market or the coffee shop.

Please keep eyes and ears open and don’t hesitate to call the police when you see people who clearly don’t fit in or seem to be too interested in our real estate.
