What they do:

The Bureau of Sanitation issues blue containers for recycling. The following are items that can be placed in the recycling container: metal food and beverage cans, aluminum food and beverage cans, aluminum foil, wire hangers, aerosol cans (empty and caps removed), glass jars and bottles, empty and dry paint cans, all clean paper, telephone directories, magazines, all plastic containers numbered 1-7, and plastic and film bags, including clean grocery and dry cleaner bags. We also accept styrofoam. We do not accept cloth/fabric in the blue container. For more information on recycling, please call 1-800-773-2489, from Monday through Friday, between 7:30a.m. and 4:45p.m.

Curbside Recycling

  • metal food and beverage cans
  • aluminum food and beverage cans
  • aluminum foil
  • aerosol cans (empty and caps removed)
  • wire hangers (whenever possible return wire hangers to the cleaners)
  • glass jars and bottles
  • empty and dry paint cans
  • all clean paper
  • telephone directories
  • magazines
all clean plastics 1 - 7 (plastic containers, and plastic and film bags including clean grocery and dry cleaner bags)
