Angeles Website Under "Citywide Services Directory")

In an effort to
improve public safety, the Los Angeles Fire
Department has identified key intersections,
narrow roads and critical locations in the
City's Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone where
parked vehicles would hinder citizens from
evacuating and firefighters from reaching the
fire zone during a brush fire. The Department of
Transportation is installing additional "Tow
Away" parking restrictions at these locations,
and Traffic Officers will be conducting special
patrols of these areas to enforce the posted
parking restrictions on high hazard brush days
known as "Red Flag Days". Vehicles found parked
in violation of the posted "Tow Away" parking
restrictions on Red Flag Days will be cited and
towed in an attempt to keep the roadways clear
in case of an emergency. If you have questions
regarding specific areas or specific days,
please feel free to stop at any fire station
within the City of Los Angeles and speak with
the supervisor who will be able to provide
necessary information. |
The Beachwood Canyon
Neighborhood Association will send out e-mail alerts when we
are informed of a Red Flag Day in order for neighbors to
adhere to the stricter parking rules until the Red Flag
Alert is lifted. If you need more info, contact
WWW.LAFD.ORG/REDFLAG.
Ask them to add you to
their direct e-mail alert list. If you are not receiving our
routine alerts and meeting announcements, write to
BeachwoodCanyon@sbcglobal.net
and ask to be added to the mail outreach list.
