has been a board member for many years and spends his free time ridding
the neighborhood of visual blight. He is also a delegate on the 101
Freeway Expansion Advisory Council and attends hearings downtown. ggg@copper.net
Jack Fitzgerald:
While working for the Los Angeles Unified School District, Jack served as
the representative of all 6,500-substitute teachers who work for the
District as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the United
Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) (1999 through 2002. In November, 2004 Jack
submitted a petition with 93% of all possible signatures to the Department
of Transportation to get speed humps put on Gower Street from Scenic to
Franklin Avenue. He looks forward to working for the neighborhood as a

Missy
Kelly: Long time past board member and active community activist,
Missy offers her energy again on this board. She is currently involved in
neighborhood activities including the effort to clean up the canyon. You
will see her at hearings and events advocating for the neighbor's right to
responsible city representation.
Larry
Markes has lived in the canyon
for decades. He is an attorney and brings with him a large body of
experience in non-profit associations, law, with a cut-to-the-chase
approach to meetings and protocol. markes@lbbslaw.com
Mary
Anne Nelson lives with her husband, Tom in Beachwood Canyon. She is active in
community affairs and attends most public meetings. She is happy to
continue serving on our team and be our eyes and ears reporting on current
issues. She is also proactive with safety issues on her block.
Fran Reichenbach: Founder
and board member of BCNA, President of the independent neighborhood
council (Franklin-Hollywood Hills Community Council), and publisher of the
Beachwood VOICE. She is delighted to continue serving with this energetic

Lori Hughes
is a resident of Verbena, a professional dog walker and very concerned
about the neighborhood. She uses her lengthy time on the local canyon
streets to observe and report unusual events, persons, and bulky items.
She’s already doing the work of the community and is eager to add her

Nina VanTassell: Nina
is a long time board member of the BCNA, property owner in the canyon,
leader in the bulky item cleanup campaign in Beachwood Canyon. She looks
forward to continuing her activity as a board member.
Gary Wilmes: Gary
is a UCLA graduate, class of '60, with his major being
Motion Picture. After another two years of graduate school he
accepted a full time job with Lockheed California Company in their Motion
Picture & TV Dept writing, directing, editing and producing several
award winning industrial films. After retirement, Gary managed the
Pasadena Art Center Collage of Design's two photo stages (film and cinema)
until 2000. He has joined board members in a trip to city hall regarding
the Beachwood Drive concrete issue and is excited about becoming more
