George Abrahams
Byrd Holland
Nina Van Tassell
Tina Roman
Ed Hayek

Board Members absent:

President Fran Reichenbach called the meeting to order at 7:40p.m.  Introductions were made of the existing Board and the audience.

Board business: The January minutes were approved.  The approval of the November minutes was tabled until the next meeting.  The treasurer’s report was tabled until the next meeting due to the illness of Diana Knoll’s mother.  The Executive Board was nominated and approved:  Fran Reichenbach, President; Byrd Holland, Vice-President, Nina Van Tassell as Corresponding Secretary; and Tina Roman as Recording Secretary.

Issues discussed by the community:  parking issues that go along with safety issues and the response, or lack thereof, of the Department of Transportation and Parking Enforcement.  Also discussed was the issue of the possibility of widening some of our narrow streets.  However, pointed out were the budget situation and the dearth of employees left to accomplish tasks for the various City departments.  Byrd Holland suggested a fire lane to ensure fire truck access.

Another issue discussed was the Beachwood cottages.  The plans are going forward to build 21 units of condos.  There is a potential parking problem because the area is developed at its maximum.

The issue of the fire station 82 situation was discussed.  Fran Reichenbach informed the community about attending a meeting of the Prop. F oversight committee and the discussions within that committee of a possible alternate plan to move the fire station.  The involvement of the Franklin-Hollywood Hills Action Team was discussed along with the presentation of their document at the January 28th meeting.

The floor was opened up for discussion by anyone in the community that had an issue to be solved.  Mike Morrow spoke about the emergency response training put on by the LAFD.  Anyone interested can call him for signups at (323) 464-3412.  There was also the issue of the Group Home in our neighborhood and the problems that a free needle program will cause the community.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.   The next meeting is April 24th, Thursday, at the Coffee Shop.
